The oppressive yellow filth
forces its way in.
Takes over the green blanket.
Ignoring it’s a sin.

A casual passerby,
views this unwanted war.
Discord versus conformity.
An everyday chore.

Calling in reinforcements.
Escalates to chemical warfare.
The cruel inhumanity,
because we couldn't share.

A fight for cleanliness,
and a fight for purity.
A useless endeavor.
A wasteful battle of immaturity.

A double sided day.
One of joy,
one of pain.
The torrential ticking
of time passing.
The never-ending questions
of what to do,
what to say?
Never mind and ignore
that which makes you sad.
Instead remember and wish for
that which makes you glad.
One plan,
one goal,
battered and beaten
it still holds strong.
Forgoing loneliness
for internal company.
Ignoring those around
for sheer simplicity.
But what can you say?
“It’s better this way”?
As perpetual concern is raised
for a clearly addled brain.
Longing for that one redeeming moment
of and otherwise bleak day.
As the minutes begin to stretch
and hours fade away.
Can’t anybody see
how demoralizing
such a day can be,
or how much pain
a lonely face
has had to face today?

Diamond Eyes

Hiding the complex
Through basic reflex
Seeing simple lives
Through diamond eyes

The world falls
And then crumbles
So the time flies
Through diamond eyes

And rain falls
And thunder rolls
The tiny lies
Through diamond eyes

No want to be obtrusive
Need to be reclusive
Seeing quiet sighs
Through diamond eye

Clear Mirror

Who should desire
A clear mirror
Of perfect likeness
Lies hideous fear

Look, see what we see
Sad doppelganger
Ethereal clone
Leaning, wall hanger

All flaws magnified
Every evil, too
Simplify ev’ry line
Ever mistake – rue

A mirror well smudged
Truly desired
The traits that are so
Nobly admired

To Be Alone

Kane
To be alone, mind-numbingly so
To be quiet, to be invisible
One pursues the other, as they both row
By and by, forever in this fable
Throughout, hollow pain they perpetuate
A shell, empty, alone is meaningless
Never comes the drive to retaliate
For the truth speaks only under duress
Timeless oppression seeks only its host
*******, ethereal chains binding all
Soulless, are enterprises pursued most
Building up an image merely to fall
To be the only one, to walk alone
To live as that life, ideally shown

Sunshine

Oh, sunshine, to you my eyes be affixed
As Aphrodite, elegance sublime
For it's beauty divinity afflicts
Beauty that withstands the scourges of time
Time will pass by and people will grow old
But in your soul, your beauty eternal
While leaves of long dead spring blow in wind cold
And long gone stars we watch, nocturnal
Oh, sunshine, to you I am drawn akin
To those pests, drawn to a fire in the night
A light in the darkness my life has been
You be my dame, my wise shining knight
My sweet, to you my heart enamored be
Enraptured, loveliness is all I see

To Autumn

Icy air blows in such a tender kiss
The faded gallows, the seasonal shift
The passion of Boreas, we never miss
Because his temper, we ignore his gift
Erring in attention we fall tribute
To sardonic gestures of those above
Good intentions, they make to restitute
In delicate sweet ministrations, love
But how much can they possibly care
Perhaps much more than mere mortals can bear

The heavens far above, when shattered, crack
Sending forth wonderful beauty we fear
But when tired, restores itself right back
Returning those heroes we hold so dear
And so, with angels falling, can we see
Only near, in burning hatred and rage
In shivering triumph, immortal beauty
Lies ignored, we in our self-serving cage
Fear and abhorrence leaves us no respite
This immaculate, magnificent plight

Chilled gust, blows as with thee, Autumnal breeze
Pushing away debris, death, and decay
‘Fore time comes, the first petrifying freeze
Quietus, preceding, gets in the way
For that simple utopia of cold
As peace is irrationally disturbed
We create a visibly hollow mould
And any love for Frost’s art is then curbed
Let us embrace this, nature’s masterwork
For short-sighted goals, our duty we shirk

the carpet is orange with little gray and white specks
like television static
the ceiling is off-white with the occasional stain
like snow the neighbors’ dogs have ****** on
I’m filled with the sound a plastic trash bag makes as it’s being *******
suffocating out on the curb in the ***** snow

car exhaust staining the ground
oil dripping in little rainbow pools
they look like tiny universes, cosmic filth
the rings of saturn are only flecks of dust
each of my eyes is a planet for you to explore
each of my hands is a nation for you to invade

the stars are visible in every glistening patch of snow
the sun and moon are the eyes of god
the solar system has lent me its gaze
