We cut trees
Then make papers
Where we write posters
To not cut trees.

We make money
To buy everything
But by having nothing
We let money make us.

We arm our troops
To build peace
Yet the same weapon
Is used to destroy peace.

We sacrifice our health
Just to save money
Only to spend it all
To save our health.

We destroy forests
To create cities
So that inside them
We can make forests.

Our lack of knowledge
Leads to ignorance
But the same is true
With knowing too much.

Ashley
They've both had you in ways
That I could only ever dream of having you
They've felt your hands on every inch of their bodies
And have felt the bliss of your lips
They've exchanged all levels of pleasure with you

They've gotten your attention
They've been your favorites
And encompassed your dreams, asleep and awake
As i have to hack and squeeze my way
Just to approach the horizon of your vision

Jealousy isn't the word to describe
The desperate hunger I can't squelch
And the heaviness of my limbs
Being filled with the feeling of insufficiency
As I face the fact that I'll never be what you want
Not nearly enough

I don't have a category
or faction
or division
or race
not fully accepted anywhere

4 years old, no race to call home

too white for one
too black for the other

8 years old, no race to call home
9, 10, 11...

where do I go?

a slave to one
too sheltered for the other
too light for one
too dark for another

12 years old, no race to call home-still
why is this okay?

a criminal to one
shame from the other

15, drowning in the midst of everything, no race to call home

different feature don't come in handy when
there's no one interested

18 years old, dead.
