Impertinent? Sometimes. I see my confidence tremble. Smart? Intentions fall short. Good plans aren’t juicy fruit And you can eat without guilt. Brave? Hiding behind metaphors. More meaning, less truth. Skin cut above the temple, sharp gravel lodged in my right knee. They were only words. At midnight, I cut off the oxygen to my beliefs so, they don’t spill into other minds. To ask? For something? For nothing? Maybe calmly drift with the wave. When my listening fails the language becomes nothing But a dense fog.
