The memories come rushing through, All I want is to be free. Time bends—then halts mid-breath, My heart unsure of what will be— Yet your smile still pulls at me. I reach for your hand, My soul confessing where I stand: I love you. A truth that cuts through, Even when I don’t understand. Clouds drift, quiet and wide, Leaves tremble, holding tight. Shadows shift in the dark, A silence edged and sharp— A whisper telling me it’s right. I walk a path through chaos’ wake, Carrying every risk I take. I gave away more than I planned— A ring slipped from my hand— And sank into something I can’t escape. Tears trace the curve of my face, I ache to vanish without a trace— For a promise Bright as a comet, While knowing I’m in the wrong place.
