it feels as though

I'm rebooting

back to who I was

before I was taken prisoner

by something I thought

was my solace.

I'm enticed by the fresh air,

savoring every deep

breath.

I'm yearning for more

just as she did

before

her dreams

were clouded.

putting this pen

to paper

is more solace

than nicotine

could ever be.
