a sunset in mid-may, a bottle of cabernet, never felt this way, but new york’s callin’ your name. still, can’t help but stare. not sure i even care that you’re headed there when i see that raven hair. few wine-drunk confessions, first time anyone’s listened, didn’t know what i was missin’, but i sure know that i’ll miss it. a walk down burlington, unfurling all our sins, something’s stirring in my hurting grin. ‘cause could you feel the same? could this go both ways? no, got to shove it away— new york’s callin’ your name. but can’t forget those eyes, i’m always mesmerized, feel so lost inside, just can’t say why. bite my tongue, empty lungs, songs unsung, feelings strung. a coffee shop afternoon, can’t help but think of you, thoughts won't subdue, seems like it’s just us two. but no, can’t feel this way, you’d never feel the same, and anyway, new york’s callin’ your name. mm
