Induced by patient heat, growing inside of me, slowly flooding my currents with flames. Feel my heartbeat, thrumming beneath us. Restless flutter threading through these walls— hidden seams hold the silence in place. Counting the stolen breaths, taken from me, praying the spell won’t break. Fingers grazing the curve of your neck, sending quiet shivers through the skin. A touch guided by your presence alone— the quiet arrangement of the unspoken, containment held tight within closed fists. The burn inside, softened by a gentle caress, treading the edge of the fire sustained. I gaze down over the precipice again, wondering how far below the tumble goes. Hands reaching above—lower me down, raise my eyes before the lights go out. Let me fade into the dark, entwined with you. Haunted shadows claiming our restless minds, yet my will contorts into yours. You draw me closer, I succumb to the silent pull. We burn on the same line.
