pastel hoodie sleeves too long thumb holes stretched like tiny galaxies i walk home under a sky the color of bubblegum milk and pretend the clouds are soft enough to keep secrets someone said “pick a side” like i’m a coin or a hallway or a checkbox but i’m more like a sticker sheet half moons pixel hearts sparkly stars and that one weird frog no one knows where to put my name feels different in different lighting in the bathroom mirror it’s nervous glitter on my friends’ tongues it’s warm mochi in my own head it’s a tiny planet spinning however it wants sometimes the world feels like a crowded cafeteria full of loud labels but i sit on the floor with my headphones and a strawberry soda drawing new constellations between freckles on my hands because if the universe can keep inventing stars i think it’s okay if i keep inventing myself too
