Puppy Dreams

I wonder what puppies dream of.

Their eyes roll back and twitter away,

As their bodies twitch and sometimes frighten you.

They snarl, they yelp,

They bark, and they huff.

Is she chasing the birds out the window?

Scurrying after those squirrels?

Does she use her big curly ears to fly

Around like Dumbo,

Pulling apart every cumulonimbus cloud?

Dream on Eva-pup.

Dream on.
