He was a mountain And she was the sad summer sky And She cried rivers of tears down him That ran into pools of sorrow But no matter what He always made her smile He made her the early spring dawn Eager to be alive And he waited every morning To see her open her eyes But now, her tears are for him She can't bear that he lies in the cold On the hill, below the green Wrapped in his blanket, with his favorite toys And her tears fall on the hard ground All alone and without his brown to hold

War dog
