After The Tears

Wilted flowers standing side by side

Candles with melted wax

One shadow cast where ever you go

Now just one set of tracks

A whisper can no longer be heard

No promises to be paid

Closets get larger with plenty of room

A bed is easier made

One straw stands alone in a glass

There's always an empty seat

There's more room now at the table

With plenty of food to eat

Yesterday seems like so long ago

Tomorrow? there isn't no hurry

The phone doesn't ring, you could care less

You don't have a reason to worry

This is the way a relationship dies

It's been this way for years

Life goes back to the way it was

Sometime after the tears
