Acceptance

You declared war,

And my heart was the battlefield.

You saw the bullet coming, Yet you showed no fear.

And I know why, I know why…

Because you knew I’d get in the way and be your shield.

I hate myself,

For the simple fact of loving you.

The one person I gave my heart to,

And the one person,

Who ripped it in two.
