Never Going Back

The lighting flashes,

The thunder roars...

Everyone dashes to get in doors.

I stand still as crowds rush by.

I feel an icy chill but couldnt tell you why.

Finally its just me, alone in the rain.

As it should be, I try to wash away the pain.

The freezing water runs down,

My soaking bare skin.

Its better than going back,

to the life Im stuck in.
