There are many ways of taking this poetic apology. Are you sorry? or is the voice of the poem so? To me not. It sounds like someone that was cut doing something and says something along those lines which heals not the pain or the disgrace felt but the subject in question. He or she does not regret it. He or she is not repentant of the bad deed.
