As December comes and the first snow falls I look out my window and watch those tiny flecks of frozen cotton fall to the ground. They accumulate on the grass and concrete, turning the world white as they stick together. This is when the world is most beautiful, covered in soft, undisturbed snow, not yet marred by sledding tracks or footprints. Not yet turned gray, but still a pure, white blanket that quiets the earth and brings some peace of mind to those lucky enough to witness its slow descent from Heaven.
