Empty Promises

The one thing in the world that breaks my heart the most,

is the fact that you lied to me in so many ways.

I always believed that you were who you said you were.

Little did I know that you were leading two separate lives.

It was devastating to me and you'll never know how I feel.

I don't think that you ever cared or even thought twice.

You were so selfish, conniving, and unfair.

You gave me so much to believe in yet,

there was nothing but empty promises behind it.

I think about you often but, I'm so glad that you're gone.
