We all have a flame, A small young spark, Waiting to ignite, Alone in the dark. It watches and waits, For someone to appear, Who can take away, It's worldly fear. It's a small fear, really, Of being extinguished. But the heart refuses To be diminished. It slowly beats Until it sees them. A rising crescendo, A sparkling gem. The brain does back flips The body shuts down And all you want to do Is take them down town. A night they won't forget, A face they'll always remember Until the day That flame becomes an ember

A Flame Cannot Start Without a Spark
We all have a flame, A small young spark, Waiting to ignite, Alone in the dark. It watches and waits, For someone to appear, Who can take away, It's worldly fear. It's a small fear, really, Of being extinguished. But the heart refuses To be diminished. It slowly beats Until it sees them. A rising crescendo, A sparkling gem. The brain does back flips The body shuts down And all you want to do Is take them down town. A night they won't forget, A face they'll always remember Until the day That flame becomes an ember
