Trying To Remember

As the days pass me by

I try to remember you

How you felt, your voice

The touch of your hand

Simple things that fade

Back into time past

Mean so much

They can break you

Your eyes are still clear

Their depth still lives on

Here inside my mind

And in a heart that grieves

Panic sets in as I struggle

To hear your words again

Rushing back to listen

As you repeat once again

Settling over me

The years take you

Further and deeper

Into my soul
