She said it slowly. So you would hear it right. Once. Then again. Your mouth followed. Close enough to keep. Years pass. You use the other one more. Easier. Faster. Given instead. One day you are asked again. You pause. You look for it. A word you knew first. It comes— almost. At the mouth. You let it go. The other one answers. It is understood.
