I colour the pages
day by day
having trouble keeping
between the lines
ink somtimes runs
with my tears
a smudge here
a fingerprint there
it's all part of the whole
tempted always to start again
colours maybe too dull
or sometimes too bright
then one day
it will be finished
and the only ones
who will see
the big picture
are the ones we leave behind
