Hope

Above this flesh even while these stubborn bones dissent

Underneath the blank stares even while these tired eyes are giving up

Despite every slithering excuse even while these days constrict us

No matter how I use the dissonance even while the despair compounds within me

Alive even while death greets me tenderly

I swear above all else even while this vision blurs

I swear beneath all else until these fibers prove me wrong

I swear to you it lingers even here
