It's  taken sixteen legs, Sometimes eight, Occasionally four, To put the world to rights, Oh and tea in flasks, And coffee and ice-cream at all sorts Of outragous times of day, It's taken the chaos of  a four, eight or sixteen hour (Pretty sure the record is sixteen at any rate) "Quick coffee" as well as A complete absence of fear or respect For my boundaries, A fierce connection that won't obey The usual rules, A glorious explosion resulting from two Remarkable flames burning At the speed of light with An Incandescent happy fury That surely must blind The random passer by Or are they already blind (or blinkered)? Legs and paws but no pause In enlightenment and fascinating Discovery of yet another Skill and lived experience, Who needs telly when Living life with such focus And intent creates such delight, Ships alongside are safe for sure, But that is not what they are meant for, Two ships in company though, Mutual support, Shared resources of compliimentary Characters formed In a crucible of fierce living, Such a fleet, Though small, Can achieve most anything, And that's a mast I happily Nail my colours to, Come rain or hail, Come storm or calm, Come life with all of its viscissitudes, Or indeed Come death.
