Devotion

When you’re done eating me,

I’ll be waiting for you in the afterlife, darling.

Where my body has turned into spirit, and I no longer ache.

When you’ve tossed my remains away, I’ll be with you still.

In the afterlife I’ll be beautiful and never age.

Never will I have the wounds you gave me as you ate me.

Here I will wait for you.

For as long as I can.

And when we find each other,

You’ll eat me again.

The cycle will continue.
