Declining Prowess

Victories lead us into being selfish, hoarding over man's precious jewels

Never to know true happiness, an emotion to which we must abide

Their anger swells to an incredible feat, leaving nothing but pools

Of spilled agony, the bodies of their victim's prowess and pride

Defeats diminish our worth, but still there are those who continue to climb

They will find true enlightenment, and it will burn into their soul, their core

Leaving behind those who choose to fall, who will never learn through time

Faith is required, to reveal life's true ecstacy, and discover forever more

Lying in the dead center, where the heat emanates the fiercest, is but one entity

It marks the beginning of time, and the end of the universe, but none shall know

Of it's beauty, for they are blinded with rage and deceit, full of mortal impurity

To train a mortal's eye to see the truth, it's impossible, they cannot see this show

Those that fight by raining fire, are sadly, more triumphant than those who fight

With intellect. But knowing that power combined with greed create such a creature

Who cannot digest the responsibility of a king. Such ends their frivolous might

Their prowess declining at an alarming rate, they are doomed to have no future
