Memory lane has been shut
Thames Water are working,
but
the tears still flow.
I'm taking it slow
and that's the best of it
watching them dig
and making a pig's ear of it.
Wednesday and I'm waiting for the second hand to catch up
sitting in the armchair and having a cup
because coffee is the fixer
the one and only elixir
and I'm only human.
