“you know its something when you can have half a conversation without saying a word.” the tv screen quivers, wetness distorting the faces of the comics and their audience 1 a.m. live from Gotham. “you have nerve i guess i have to give you that.” you smile. your crooked tooth is slick as you bring beer to mouth and take a sip. “I was never trying to hurt you.” “But you were never trying not to.”
