Arthur and I sit and talk together I talk, Arthur ***** his head I need to anthropomorphize him He has no need to zoomorphize me. Our hubris causes us to label Condescendingly, we say animals act like us We could never act like an animal We would give up war, prejudice, greed, Loving with a price. Coveting all the earth can offer beyond our needs When it’s all gone too far We start to fix it all I’ve ridden that pendulum from its apex through positive change, Past a point of rest, rising into new problems. That is where I jumped off As I commiserate with Arthur seeking clarity and summation Arthur butts up against my leg and places his chin on my leg In his soulful eyes he gives me the answer We’re best friends in the simplest true sense with wisdom Of nature
