And when I pressed my fingers to the ground The soft powdered dirt The rock still warm from the suns glow Beneath my fingers Were the roots of the earth Tangled Twisted A whole new world Mirrored below There was life, light Beneath my hands The roots of the earth grew As continuously as my heart beat Even through the concrete and rock So powerful I could still feel it Nature broke through Not with trumpets and flags But with the quiet and gentle unfurling- Of a new green shoot The breeze so tranquil The breeze to calm an army The late summer sun Shining gold against the green and brown Their leaves gently shook in rythm Dancing to the oceans subtle song Never a house been so beautiful As the one in Spain My home The most beautiful I wondered how anything could be more beautiful than this Dreaming how the sea may look today As the black metal vehicle took me away From the only place I had ever loved My home forever, that won’t change -JJ 01/09/25
