Dangerous Lovers

My dear, beloved cigarette

How I love lighting your head on fire

The sweet aroma of your smoke drifting into my lungs

You take my anxiety and anger

And bring it to a more comfortable level

I’ve never been so in love

And yet this love is inconvenient

Your sent lingers on me,

Like a lovers clone

You beg for my attention

At times when I can’t give it to you

But I still love you

My dear, dangerous beloved cigarette
