Deep in the forest, there are many creatures.
A woman enters
And as she looks around
She sees many things that interest her
But somewhere deep inside
Something awakens
Something that should have long since died
Deep in the forest, there's a woman and a wiggly earthworm.
He isn’t afraid to speak his mind
And do things that shock people
And she wishes she could do that too
Speak loud and clear
And be who she wants to be
Without any fear
Deep in the forest, there's a woman and a giant lizard.
He stands strong and tall
Ready to defend
And she wishes she could follow his lead
Stand up tall
And be ready
To fight for them all
Deep in the forest, there's a woman and a floofy crow.
He always says hello
He’s extra friendly
All the other animals perk up when he’s around
And she wishes she could
be like that
Cheery and always there with a grin
She wishes she could say hi
to everyone she’s ever seen.
Deep in the forest, there's a woman and a bunny rabbit.
They used to talk but
Now they just wander around
He’s very good at avoiding her eyes
And she wishes she could follow
If she could stop herself from speaking
And sharing all the secrets no-one wanted to know.
Deep in the forest, there's a woman and a darkened shadow.
It knows many things
Wealths of knowledge
And the woman wishes she understood,
When the shadow tries to tell her advice
For it does not make sense
But others say it's quite precise
Deep in the forest, there's a woman and a snowy owl.
She is a wise one
Far beyond her years
She has an air of experience
Wherever she goes
And the woman wishes she could think things through
Spread knowledge everywhere
And be wise like her too
Deep in the forest, there's a woman and herself.
She constantly is looking around
Telling herself she’s not worth it
Seeing all these beautiful beings
And looking down
And finding nothing
Attacks from every side
Except it’s just the inside
Tearing her apart
Deep in the forest, there's a woman and a gust of wind.
It softly speaks to her
Telling her to quiet herself
The inner turmoil silences
And she can listen
As it tells her who she really is
Someone with courage
And maybe perseverance
Someone who tries to make others laugh
Or even be strong
Deep in the forest, there are many creatures.
There’s a woman here
But there are others too
They are not more special than she is
But neither is she
She understands this now
When she looks around she sees special people
But when she looks down,
She sees all she’s ever known
Someone beautiful
