Chimes in the tree There they are Dee-deh-daahh Dee-deh-daahh The night sighs Exhales at my half open window That squints into darkness The notes gone for a moment Metallic tubes dance a frenzy Obliterated in the gust My house creaks like an old lung Expanding gasps through tired lips At the breath's apex There they are again Gently touching now In the quieter breeze Between each breath Beneath the dark branches Dee-deh-daahh Dee-deh-daahh Sound in blackness Light in the silence
