Untold Story

The story we never told

still lingers at the edges of my days.

Places we once shared feel altered now,

your laughter thinned into air

that doesn’t return it.

Your smile lives more in memory

than in anything I can touch.

Your absence has a temperature –

a quiet cold I meet without meaning to.

I miss you,

though the word feels too small.

Some days the sky seems the only place

large enough to hold the questions

your leaving left behind.

I miss the conversations,

the easy laughter,

the way ordinary moments felt steadier

when you were near.

I miss you –

not as an ache,

but as a presence I still reach for

without thinking.

This poem comes from the quiet spaces – the things left unsaid that still linger in the day to day. It’s about a story that was never finished, yet continues to ask for room.
