The stars are reached by the best of us, Not just because we are fearless, But because some callings never end. You watched an eclipse no human eye on Earth could see. You saw its far side, a reminder that the most profound things keep their deepest selves hidden until you travel far enough to deserve the view. The moon watched you go in the quiet certainty that we would come back. We always come back.

The far side
The stars are reached by the best of us, Not just because we are fearless, But because some callings never end. You watched an eclipse no human eye on Earth could see. You saw its far side, a reminder that the most profound things keep their deepest selves hidden until you travel far enough to deserve the view. The moon watched you go in the quiet certainty that we would come back. We always come back.
Dedicated to the crew of Artemis II Wiseman, Glover, Koch, Hansen and the thousands of minds on Earth who held the it all together.
