Sometimes I have visions of people's shadows clearer than themselves; In the sunlit they are concealed, but they appear in the shade. From these shadows I can see faces hiding, avoiding my stare; Their yearn to exist is palpable but silenced by fear and shame. Truth kept cannot fool the eyes. It blends in the light, but in the dark it glares; Like a love that longs to fly, is that shadow of self that dwells.
