I seek a mountain of stone. I seek one far harder a mountain made of self-love. I am mountains of dirt mixed with hurt. I am mountains of sand mixed with pain. Admonish me for my sins, but embrace me for being human. Release me from myself. Is obsession a form of intelligence? I am the monkey returning to fire. I know the burn. I choose it. Thought presses against my skull: what is a thought? This question hangs over me a metaphysical weight heavier than the wars I remember. I crave a shared reality, some place where my consciousness can meet another without fear. So I sought my mountain. Unprepared for the climb, yet I insisted. I begged to be shown the door, not knowing what I was asking for. When it opened: blistered night, cold sweat I will never forget. Through time I saw it, as though a great curtain had been pulled aside. From the inside I watched the rollercoaster of my life: when it twists and turns I may step away, racing heart slowing, or stand in line again another ride, another chance for time with a lover.

Song of My Mountain
