Yesterday I saw a bird die It was flying with joy, singing a melody Not knowing it would soon face tragedy Till it flew too low And hit a window Cracked limbs left it frozen on the floor I wish I could have done more But the cold air whispered in my ears, telling me it wasn’t my battle I wonder where its spirit went? I am not rattled, But this bird reminded me that time is not mine to keep In the midst of joy, always remember death In the midst of sadness, always remember time

Dead Bird
