Yesterday I saw a bird die
It was flying with joy, singing a melody
Not knowing it would soon face tragedy
Till it flew too low
And hit a window
Cracked limbs left it frozen on the floor
I wish I could have done more
But the cold air whispered in my ears,
telling me it wasn’t my battle
I wonder where its spirit went?
I am not rattled,
But this bird reminded me that time is not mine to keep
In the midst of joy, always remember death
In the midst of sadness, always remember time
