A Step Back

It's hard for me to find the words

to tell you I loved you, so

this will be the only piece

I ever write to let you know.

I loved the moments spent

lost inside your eyes

when in the morning we awoke

from the slumber which we lie.

Deep brown - intertwined

my soul & beating heart

I knew that every blink of lids

is the 'what' that set apart

your smile from the others

all the one's who can't compare

and from the very beginning

you took every breath of air.
