My love has gone to war today and I can't hide the pain. The tears I cry alone at night have fallen down like rain. If my pillow where a rose, it would drink all night in bliss. When I dream, I dream of being with you alone and how we kiss. My love has gone to war today and I can't hide the fear. I talk to you alone at night and hope that you can hear. A rose left without water could, surely not, revive. Yet, you have left me here and I am still alive. My love has gone to war today and left me feeling blue. I'll wipe my eyes, return to sleep, so I can be with you. ©Barry Doster
