I drank a lot of your holy water, yet still died of thirst. When I ask to drink from your fountain, when did you provide me with a funnel? Or do you derive pleasure from my fumbling? Do you think I am feeble, a flightless bird that has no beak? If I claw my eyes out will you peck the worms for me, and feed it to me? Can you see my reflection, staring right through your waters? Were they just hallucinations, the times I saw your resolve start to waver? Do you derive pleasure from my meager attempts? Can you see how abjected I am? Clawing at the edges of my resolutions, should I bare myself naked just so you could see what I am? - N.V. 🥀
