August Days Gone By

his heart beats slow & steady as she walks into the room;

morning rays glisten in her eyes reflecting light from August days gone by.

A quick glance to catch his gaze with a wink to still his hands,

are the shadows playing tricks on him or is he lost in lovers sin?

Hope - the roaring in his ears as he searches for the right words:

"hello, how are you?" "if I told you I love you, would you know it's true?

Simple acts of indiscretion leave tear stains on the floor,

but her picture perfect smile makes it all worth while.

The night calmly yet swiftly comes to an idyllic close,

with one last dance he'd never miss ended with a sealed kiss...
