I can’t remember all those days of me trying to escape. All those days when the sunlight won’t break in and the rain drops soaked the floors. The days I cried and begged. The days I had to put up and take it all like a good girl. The days when I’m left alone. The days I tried using a hairpin to unlock the door. The days I tried kicking it. The days I called for help. The days when the flood was coming and started to fill up the house. The days I drowned. The days I died. The days when I had the key all the time.

The Key
