My Heart Had Known You All Along

my heart had known you all along,

but it had beat alone.

it waited, until we were grown,

gotten older, became one -

and kissed

beneath the cherry blossoms.

and now we are swimming

in a sea of blueberries

and my fingers are stained

with the essence of you.
