I once met a leaf of a brilliant green Waving at me as I walked to the gate I wanted to stop and chat for a while But didn’t have time, it was getting late Springtime had passed, summer was blazing There was that leaf looking wilted and tired I wanted to stop and chat for a while Heading to work, didn’t want to get fired Autumn had come, the weather much cooler That little green leaf was beginning to change I wanted to stop and chat for a while But a meeting was coming I had to arrange Winter was here with a blustery welcome I noticed the leaf on the ground in a pile I said, “Sorry Joe, it was so nice to meet you” Maybe next spring we can chat for a while
