Breathe in, breathe out as my lungs burn bright. Breathe in, breathe out as my throat feels tight. Breathe in, breathe out as the knife seems a dangerous delight. Breathe in, breathe out as the thoughts take reign. Breathe in, breathe out as my heart pounds fierce against my ribs. Breathe in, breathe out as my life flashes in my sight — memories of ache and memories of joy. Breathe in, breathe out one last time… or so I want. Yet I keep fighting for another breath to breathe out.

Breathe in breathe out.
