They were once lovers you know she stood in silence wrapped in eastern silk as he was out on business married to cash you’d never place them together but perhaps that’s the point in passing they locked eyes she was flooded with a thousand pacing thoughts as he was swept under the tides of memory she didn’t know how to play it cool and neither did he but how can you when years of lines overlapping, years of impassioned midnight love, years of calling mums mum and dads dad collapse in two forced smiles and passng silence

An Encounter
