This "dum silly" girl with the sunflower heart, Felt like a puzzle with a missing-link part. She lived in the spaces that others fly by, With a home in her soul and a dream in her eye. While the world chased its "things" and its "dum silly" gold, She waited for a story that was yet to be told— A story of how the Sun loves the Moon, And how stars find their place in a heavenly tune. She was a sunflower, tall in the field, Waiting for a secret that was finally revealed. For no one else knew what the sunflowers do: How they turn to each other when the sky isn't blue. They don't need the world when the day turns to gray, They just look at their love and the dark fades away. And that’s when she saw him—her "dum silly" boy, Who brought back the light and who brought back the joy. His name was Solan, her Sun in the night, Who looked in her eyes and made everything right. And she was his Maris, the Moon on the sea, The "missing piece" he’d been longing to be. He didn't see "silly" and he didn't see "small," He just saw the girl who was worth more than all. He broke down the silence, he broke down the wall, And caught her heart's quiet and desperate call. Now the world can be "dum" and the world can be big, But she’s found the branch and she’s found the right twig. To build a small nest in a wide-open space, Finding her home in his "dum silly" face. No longer a ghost in the spaces between, She’s finally loved, and she’s finally seen. Two hearts for a heart, and a soul for a soul, Solan and Maris... at last, they are whole.
