Beyond the rough exterior A wall of pride and self: Stubborn outlook on all of life. Lies a little girl Tucked up in a shell: Bordered by a stone wall strong Sits a torn heart Ripped by hurt and sorrow: Misunderstood and ignored Wanting to be loved Willing to risk it all: Just to start again She needs a Father's hand A tide of love and mercy: Covered by imaginary shelter Under all that scorn She is worn: Lost and wandering all alone Decided only thing stands She is in the Master's plan: Within His love she may abide Unwilling to hide The ground must be renewed: Though the night is long the day is stronger still.
