If love had a soundtrack
Could you pick our song?
Would you know the melodies?
Or will it all just sound wrong?
Did you hear the violin?
As if it was played on my own heart strings,
The thumping from the bass,
Torn between stay or leave.
Treading lightly on piano keys
In the middle of the night.
Too afraid to amp it up
In case the loves not right.
So I dance with a harpsicord,
Stumbling on two left feet–
I sway through every measure
Waiting for you to harmonize with me.

If you never hear this song I guess it's all okay,
Just another lullaby I'll put in storage to haunt me and decay.
