Tonight we’ll dine alone Separate places nowhere to call home Tonight we’ll dine alone, together. Call it a sign but these faces, They’ve got nothing to them No intention, no such hunch, not like us Just something to look at As our paces line the sidewalk to that fine wine place, Drinks so costly we must be tying our laces And drifting on out our laughter as payment A moment has passed now we’re out to lunch While I stuffed my luncheon in my face You’ve beaten me to the punch, and this time I’m anxious, And my heart is fluttering, So I mutter with haste No rhyme or reason, No chime to signal some fine line, No time to to be wasted, No, I reckon, Just a second well spent Just a second we’ll spend, Again and again. I love you more.
