Tiny bedroom softly lit by light, and a little lamp- putting up a fight. The room mostly dark, but in a corner it shines- trying not to flicker in and out of time. It's been there for quite a while, as the darkness laughs and smiles. Where, oh where did hope go? Did it leave us all alone? Darkness begins to creep in, and the light is cut small and thin. Who knows if we’ll make it out- I might just have to shout. A desperate, helpless cry, to counteract the growing lie. Will it fall upon deaf ears? Will we fall to our own fears? The lamp flickers once… and nothing clears. The room remains shrouded in tears, while the darkness and its peers continuously leer. And in the end, no flame appears- just silence, stretching through the years. “Tomorrow's another day…” is what they all say. As the monsters lie in wait, and we blindly take the bait. Perhaps, the dark was meant to stay. Perhaps, it will never go away.
